[mədɛ'na], Ortschaft in Westtunesien, 35 km südlich von Le Kef; in der Nähe befindet sich das Ruinenfeld der antiken Stadt Althibụrus: Ausgegraben wurden u. a. Reste eines gepflasterten römischen Forums, vom Portikus sind noch einige korinthische Säulenkapitelle vorhanden; Triglyphen und Metopen vom Kapitol, Überreste weiterer Tempel, Theater, Brunnen, Thermen, Monumentaltor, Hadriansbogen (128 n. Chr.) und zahlreiche Villen. Fundort des Schiffsmosaiks (3. Jahrhundert n. Chr.) im Bardo-Museum von Tunis. Einzelfunde (Weihgaben) zeigen starke punische Einflüsse.
